JAMAICA PLAIN — On June 26, representatives from the Boston Redevelopment Authority met with Forest Hills residents for the eighth time to discuss the Forest Hills Improvement Initiative, an ambitious attempt to define guidelines for potential investors and developers in the area.

The MBTA had planned to issue an Invitiation to Bid on June 27, as the meeting was originally intended to be a wrap-up meeting. The BRA also held an FHII meeting to review a draft of the Transportation and Streetscape Improvement plan for the Forest Hills area that has been developed through the process on April 30. Master Plan sparks rift

BRIGHTON — At the June 30 meeting of the Boston College Neighbors Forum, it was clear that BC’s plan to purchase the 17-story apartment complex at 2000 Commonwealth Ave. has become a divisive issue in the neighborhood.

BC proposed the 2000 Commonwealth Ave. idea earlier in the month as part of their revised Master Plan, in an attempt to house 100 percent of its students on campus. Their plans for 2000 Commonwealth Ave. would include converting the site, which sits off-campus, to BC controlled student housing for 560 students. [read more]

Boston police are seeking the public’s assistance in apprehending suspects wanted in a connection to convenience store robberies in Jamaica Plain and Hyde Park.

At approximately 2:22 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18, officers responded to a radio call for a panic alarm at the River Street Mini-Mart, 991 River St., Hyde Park. Upon arrival, officers spoke to the victims who stated that four masked black males entered the store. [read more]

Former Red Sox slugger among investors buying local housing developments

The Hit Dog is taking a swing at Boston's real estate market.

On Tuesday, Red Sox great Mo Vaughn, co-owner of Omni New York, LLC, announced that the company plans to purchase two local affordable housing developments, Forestvale Apartments in Jamaica Plain and Florence Apartments in Roslindale. Under the company's plan, both properties will continue as affordable housing for at least 40 years. [read more]

BRIGHTON — In a contentious neighborhood meeting that had to be stopped several times due to shouting from an audience of well over 200, Boston College presented their newly revised Institutional Master Plan.

Members of the BC Task Force repeatedly asked protesters to hold their questions and comments until the end of BC’s presentation. [read more]
