Letters to the Editor
Yu’s Misleading Headline
A few weeks ago there was a Bulletin story that had the headline Persis Yu given lukewarm reception at the WRBPA.
The headline reminded me of the headline given to one of my letters to the editor years ago. The headline was the opposite of what I was expressing in my letter.
I was not pleased and sent an email to the Bulletin editor about it. He replied back saying I was right and did mention the error in the paper.
I mentioned this because I think using the term lukewarm can be seen as some that the people attending the WRBPA were disrespectful to Persis Wu and her victory.
I was there and that was not the case. It was her third time speaking befire the WRBPA and each time I felt she was treated respectfully.
This time after her introduction she got a round of applause for her win.
While I have a problem with the headline the story wad itself accurate & liked Yu’s idea of a listening tour of the communities she will represent prior to being sworn into office in January
